It blows from the past and into the future. Shyish is said to be formed within the dimension of the Aethyr by the mortal realisation of the transience of life, by the bittersweet emotions produced by the reminiscences of days gone by and friends and relatives no longer living, and by mortal acceptance of living in the moment, for life is short and can be cut short at any time. It is the most mysterious and terrible of all the wholesome forms of magic practiced by Men. Shyish, also called the Lore of Death, Spirit Lore and the Sixth Lore, is the Purple Wind of Magic and the embodiment within the Aethyr of mortals' certainty of the passage of time and the inevitability of death for all living things.
